8-28-09 More progress this week

Another Brick cleaning party! Thanks Ev and Kort!

Mike and Rich Gard ( our contractors) in the new ditch across the road for the sewer reroute. trying to figure out what to do since the manhole we have to connect to happens to be in our neighbors yard on the inside of their fence!!! Gotta love the city !!

Poured the foundation walls for the new porch on the front

The ground is leveled and getting ready to form up the new driveway in front of the garage, and the floor joists arrive.

this is what we found when we dug up the old line... Why would anyone put a 90 degree turn in a main sewer line ?? with no cleanouts!!!

Welcome to the brick chipping party!! We had to clean the old morter off of the bricks so we could reuse them. It is very hard work!

The floor slab for the garage is poured and is awesome and the side walk around the side of the garage. Notice that there is no brick on this side of the house. :)

We are very grateful for all the help from Gar and Jane and Ev and Kort and Cody. We really got tons done this week!! We are all very tired too.

Wow did they get a lot done. It is very noisy around here during the day! We are doing the demo inside while the big machines are digging andpouring outside...it is wild!! And today I start on the wedding quilt!!! :) Life just gets more interesting.

8-3-09 Finally getting some foundation walls formed. They will pour concrete tomorrow!!
