They got a lot done today and it is starting to look like they will finish... they installed the closet organizers in the master closet
they did base and case in some of the rooms

they built and almost finished the shelves in the pantry
they hung several of the doors... these are the ones on the new linen closet in the hallway across from the pantry.

they installed some of the cabinets. these are in the guest bathroom upstairs.

a look at the doors installed

a little closer look at the caseing around all the doors
We love coming home and seeing progress!! the great room is stacked high with cabinets for the kitchen and my washer is out of the box and sitting in the garage. ( hopefully that means no more trips to the laundrymat! )

Just a few shots to kinda show you the colors we have chosen. These pictures are not very good but maybe you can get an idea. We painted until 3 this morning (we being mostly Brandon and Dad with help from me and Everett until about 11.) I came into the house about 3 as they were finishing for the night (no we are not done yet but much closer...thanks again Gard's) I thought you would like to see the E.T. look of the place.

We had to cover all the walls so that we could spray and roll all the ceilings! Tons of work..Thanks Brandon, Dad and Everett! YOU ROCK

I don't think I ever showed you the new ac and the vent for the furnace is on the side of the house now
the furnace is so efficient that it vents water vapor which is creating quite a little frozen waterfall on the side of the house

this is the shelf we made and tiled in the guest bathroom. I forgot to show it in the other pictures. It is very cool, I love it

we painted the island a dark orange ( this photo makes it look much more orange than it does in the room. The granite top and the breakfast bar that will hang from it will cover most of the orange. It will just be a little pop of color in the room

Brandon is working hard painting ( for the second time, grrrr) This is the accent wall in the master bedroom

you know I love mossy green!

Yes that is orange snow! This happened just this morning... I bumped a new gallon of our orange accent paint off the back of the truck and it spilled all over the new driveway! AAAAgh What a mess but we were able to get all of it off the concrete with lots of buckets of hot water and scrubbing.

The new built on ironing board in my new laundry room. Also notice that the tile has been laid.

We have finished the tiling in the guest bathroom and the tile has been laid in there. Also the paint is done.

This is the tile in the kitchen area of the great room. You can't really see the color correctly here but it turned out very nice.

The tile in the powder room

A close up shot of our new venician plaster accent wall in the great room. This was taken while it was still wet. When it dryed it has the look of suede I think.

One of the Drywallers that came to save the day applying the venician plaster... Most of you have heard the story of the drywall fiasco. Short version.. our contractors did an absolutly HORRIFIC job finishing the original drywall and we refused to accept it. we hired a new company to come in a fix it ( this took a week and with the delays created with the painting etc. we will be delayed about a month ) needless to say we are just a little stressed and very pissed.
Overall things are finally starting to look like a house and we are painting like mad (again, because of the extensive repairs to the drywall we have had to prime and paint the entire house over again!!! we have used over 75 gallons of primer alone. Not very happy about that either) but it is taking shape and beginning to look beautiful. Photos will follow, I promise to be better at posting more often...this drywall thing has been a nightmare and has really consumed us for weeks. Sorry
Stay tuned, things are starting to finally come together. :)
